If the Angels win again, Boston still has two home games ahead to get even. Anything can happen in the postseason and usually does.

Are you saying that a team that is facing elimination still has a chance to win a series even if that team hasn't won a game yet? Are you sure? I don't know if it's ever happened before.

I'm sorry, but major league baseball has to come out and say something about this. If someone being out at First base by a good 2-3 feet is considered bang bang, we're in serious trouble.

Quote

“They were three bang-bang plays at first base,’’ West said. “It seemed like two of them went against the Red Sox, one of them went against the Angels. I mean, they’re all bang-bang plays. From where I was, it’s the kind of play, they hit the bag at the same time. I’m sure that the camera slowed everything down and they deciphered it the way they did.

“These are professional umpires, and they get in the best position they can to make the call. He was in great position on all the plays. If he got blocked out, he got blocked out. He was there to make the call. It didn’t appear that any of them were real routine plays, either.’’

The only one that qualifies from last night at First base was the Pedroia covering first one. I could understand that one going either way, but the two other were just unbelievable bad.

Maybe MLB can call up CB, and go "hey CB, are you feeling okay? You look a little nauseous, maybe you got the swine flu. We should isolate you from the game just in case. Thanks for all your had work. Here's a full playoff paycheck."

This is considered bang bang? The bag is barely in the picture kendricks is so far away. CB said Youkilis tagged him, but Kendricks already tagged the bag.

I know that you're talking about something more recent.

But if the Red Sox have to come back from the brink of elimination, who do we want to be this year's Donnie Moore?

A. Toriiiiiii
B. Jered Weaver
C. Darren Oliver (that's for SUCKING ASS when you pitched for us)
D. Erick Gaybar (I just don't like him. He looks like he got cheekbone implants from the same plastic surgeon as Kevin Bacon.)
E. The Rally Monkey
F. Other

I want to witness the utter destruction of the Angels.

F. Other-- A thunderstick

Game 5. Angels lead 4-1 in the top of the 9th. Sox load the bases with 2 outs and David Ortiz at the plate. Ortiz hits a foul pop up that's headed for the front row of seats near first base. It's an easy play for Morales, but as the fan attempts to get out of his way to make the catch he accidently hits the ball with his thunderstick. Ortiz hits the next pitch 497 feet. Papelbon K's the side in the 9th and we're off to face the Yankees.

I like the sound of that. But I do hope that in some small way Toriiiiiiiiii gets the chance to be a goat.

Or the chance to dislocate his shoulder running into the wall. I would certainly settle for that.

F**k him.

EDIT: Actually, shoulder injury would be great, but I really hope for a broken jaw. Preferably permanent damage. If he would shut the f**k up once in awhile, I might not hate him anymore. I used to like him when he played for the Twins. But of course you only talk to the media twice a year when you play for the Twins.

I am still amazed that Hendu pulled a low and away pitch over the LCF fence. That guy had some power. No wonder Donny Moore was despondent. He made a good pitch and it left the yard.

Actually, I think the Sox can win this series without any Angels getting injured. Boston just needs to start pounding the baseball tonight. Youk, Pedey, Lowell, etc. And if Jered Weaver's sidearming style isn't perfect for Ortiz and Drew, then I will ban myself from this board. Again.

Of course.

I don't want Toriiiiiii to get hurt because it will help the Red Sox. I want him to get hurt because I actually want him to get hurt. Not in a career threatening kind of way or anything, but a little writhing on the ground in agony would do him some good.

Especially if it's his jaw.

If Torii were viewing this thread, he would be enjoying your writhing at the computer. You ought to tell your guys to go win three games so we can move on to the real thing.

After Torii Hunter hit that 3-run homer and was flipping out in the dugout all I could keep thinking was, "your name's still Torii".
