Ah, 1 year removed and we have DONNY BACK. Thank god, it's like a NESN homegame.

Interesting. I thought they had tried to keep Orsillo away from Sox postseason games to avoid the "conflict" thing. The question I guess is how far does Orsillo overcompensate to avoid not coming off as a "homer"?

I may be biased, but I don't think he is much of a homer to begin with. May be one of the reasons he was picked.

TBS has done something about baseball that I actually like:
Having the strikezone graph up there 99% of the time. Its something I've been hoping that broadcasters would do for ages. Ok, for ever since NESN does the Amica strike zone after particularly interesting pitches.

I don't think he is a homer, but he strikes me as the type that would strive to avoid it on a "national" telecast and stray too far in the opposite direction.

Good first inning, as Lackey had to throw a lot of pitches.

Some runs would have been nice, though. Kill off those last few butterflies that might be going after Jon Lester.

At least they made Lackey work a bit (21 pitches) in the top of the inning...

I have to agree. I really enjoy having the strike zone pitch location permanently on the screen.

Nice ball 2 call. Dead center fully in the bottom of the zone.

That was awesome. Lowell can still fall down with the best of 'em.

As long as he keeps timing his falls to the time the ball gets there he'll be fine.

Good morning, all. Pitch location on screen all the time is a good thing. Don Orsillo on the mike is a good thing. Lots of pitches for pitchers with an "h" in their first name is a good thing. Beating the Angels is a good thing. Do it.

Wow. We actually made it further into the game than I thought we would. Who had top of the second inning in the pool?

Clearly there are two different strike zones this evening.

I hope this isn't going to be 3 games of Nick Adenhart.

His death was absolutely a tragedy. And I do feel for his teammates.

But I promise you, there were 17 Angels fans in the world who had ever heard of him at the time of his death. Let's just move on and sweep these assholes.

Nice. Lester struck him out, didn't get the call, struck him out again.

Jon Lester vs. the world. The world loses.
