The last Sox playoff game that I went to was an ugly loss in a game 2 to Oakland in '03. This is still winnable.

The last playoff game I attended was ALDS Game 4 in 2003... An eighth inning double by Ortiz scored Garciaparra and Ramirez and the Sox lead 5-4! I thought that the ballpark was going to topple over. So it can happen, but Ortiz can't hit good pitching any more and Garciaparra and Ramirez are gone...

I've never been to a playoff game at Fenway, but I remember watching this game on TV (it was also the first time I wanted a GM to fire a manager mid-game). The reaction when Ortiz got that hit was unreal. It's tough to compare a crowd on TV, but I really think the crowd was far more nuts when that run scored than it was during any part of the 2004 postseason.

I was at the same game. I couldn't believe that Burkett kept us in the game and Hudson left after one(then it came out he was out all night getting in barfights with locals).

why don't the umps just have the batter take his glove off and see if the hand is red. pretty easy to tell if he was hit.

Agreed. The offense needs to put something on the board now...like this half inning. Wake up the ****ing crowd which seems as dead as the Sox offense. Buchholz is looking very solid and the offense needs to give him some breathing room.
