Clearly the better team won the series. They pitched better. They hit better. They hit in the clutch.
Let's hope they keep this going against the Yankees.
As for the Sox, Theo has got some work to do. He needs to add power to the lineup, even if he keeps Jason Bay which is questionable. They are still a very good team but the batting order no longer puts fear in the heart of the league's best pitchers. Marginal MLB pitchers will still get knocked around by the Sox on a regular basis but good pitching seems to handle them pretty well.
Oh well. You can't win every year.

Agree on most points except the "very good team". There are huge holes filled by aging, declining players--at 3rd, (backup) catcher, 4/5 starter, right field(Drew cannot or will not play 155+ games a season), maybe SS. Then there is the hole in LF that will be created when Bay signs with the Yanks.

Be glad it was over quickly. The thrashing that awaited us against the Yankees would've been far more disheartening.
This lineup was never good enough for postseason play.

That's a good way to look at it.
We have sufficient pitching and upcoming pitching.
We need a terrifying 3-4 combo. Not getting Tesh (not saying we could have, we probably could not have) was huge...

Tex was never coming here. His only interest in Boston was using it as leverage to drive up the MFY's price. It worked very nicely for him. Bastard.
