The Sox acquired Kevin Cash yesterday, and he's now our starting catcher. I suggest that the remaining Sox be encased in bubble wrap for the foreseeable future.

Varitek to miss six weeks

Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek suffered a broken foot Wednesday night and is expected to miss six weeks. That led to the team acquiring Kevin Cash from the Houston Astros yesterday.

Varitek left the game against Tampa Bay after eight innings, and a source with knowledge of the situation told the Globe last night that the Sox captain would become the latest player to go on the disabled list.

Manny DelCarmen is on the DL too. I'm too lazy to start a thread on it.

Yeah... I didn't think he was worth his own thread! I'll add it to the title.

There is no capital "c" in Delcarmen. I don't know why but it makes me absolutely insane when people do that.

The only letters that should be capitalized are ER

Seeing I posted a navicular bone in the Pedey thread, I thought I'd give metatarsals equal time.
