I'll hold off on panic until the end of the homestand. If they are no better than .500 at home when the Jays leave town, I'm jumping off a bridge.

I've got just the bridge for you.

Nicely researched, Anni. There is a much higher bridge nearer to where I live, but this one would make a better "splash" in the media. A nice dinner of khachapuri, mtsvadi and chacha, then off I go! Who's with me?

I vote for neither, and take choice C - Despair. Two straight losses with Lester on the mound have pushed me over the edge.

I feel euphoric, but I don't think it has anything to do with the Red Sox.

Thanks again, medication.

I am pretty sure its about time I officially give up - it has worked great in the past [04 ALCS/07 ALCS] who knows, maybe it works for the regular season too. In other news, my count for hating players is now up to 19 of the 25 man roster.

First of all, welcome back.

Secondly, which are the 6?

I'm going to guess, Youkilis, Pedroia, Gonzalez, Lester, Buchholz and Ortiz. Ortiz is a stretch though, but I'm guessing you're giving points for past performance.

Jenks, Lowrie and Beckett deserve some consideration as well.

Edit: The 2nd line in your sig is more appropriate now than ever.

Dear Carl Crawford,

Please commence eating babies. In the past, the eating of babies has proved to be fortuitous and has improved the hitting acumen of Red Sox players (see Ortiz, David). Please note, however, that the phrase "eating babies" is not slang for taking steroids. What we would like you to do is eat actual babies. Studies have shown that the eating of babies allows the eater to gain the strength and fortitude that the baby would have had in life. To that effect, please note that you should avoid eating fat babies. Fat babies will increase you cholesterol and lower your running speed.

Thank you,

Red Sox Management

PS. I suggest midget babies.

Thanks Carl,

Panic lessens over time.

Jed Lowrie is Godzilla.

Daisuke isn't dead yet.

Onward.

Barely 10 percent done - they're not gonna be only winning 33 percent, not with this lineup. Besides, does anyone really think Crawford and Youkilis are going to hit below the Mendoza line the entire year?

15 games down; 147 to go. It's on, baby!

Yup, I'm in. Took a while, but they've figured it out. A .618 winning percentage over 162 games gets you 100 wins. If the Sox win at that pace over the next 147, they still win 95. that ought to be enough. Let's just say that they already have there worst stretch behind them.

' Course, a road win might become necessary at some point...
