He will likely be out until the middle of next year. It looks like Wakefield will have a great chance to get to 200 wins.

Isn't the recovery time more like 18 months? And doesn't that basically mean the end of his time with the Sox?

As much as he drove me nuts the bottom line is that this is a blow to the Red Sox. Hope Miller finds some command down in AAA, he really does fascinate me as a "prospect".

Not necessarily on the 18 months, but yes as far as the end of his time with the Sox if it goes that long. He could be back by the 2012 All Star break.

Iím calling my cable provider & cancelling every channel not named ĎNESNí.
However, my wife is dismayed that she will no longer be able to watch Parenthood/Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters/Hallmark Channel every 5th day.
