(stolen from twitter)

Maybe the Sox can agree to let Theo go to the Cubs and in exchange the Cubs must take Lackey as well.

They could do that, but they'd still have to pay him $45.75M dollars over the next 3 years. What's the point of throwing in the hot dogs?

Well, I guess it's clear that the Cubs aren't giving up player(s) with any real value. The Red Sox may have to settle for some cash and/or a quadruple A pitcher.

Nice to know a GM under contract who has won 2 world series in 7 years isn't worth a cup of cofee....

Jerry Crasnick via Twitter

Quote

#Cubs minor leaguer Aaron Kurcz has been told he's the player to be named later in Theo Epstein compensation package, source says

and this:

Quote

Kurcz, a 21-year-old righty, went 5-4 with a 3.28 ERA for Class A Daytona last season.

And a brief scouting report

    Quote

Aaron Kurcz | RHP | Age – 20 | Grade – C+ … Potential set up man with a solid two-pitch combo…athletic delivery and very good arm speed.

Wheeeee.

What the hell is an "athletic delivery"? Does the guy sprint to home plate and hurdle the catcher and umpire while throwing the pitch?

I am guessing the ball comes out of his hand nicely.

That is always good.

It does help. I'm sick of pitchers who aren't able to let go of the ball.
